For our two week holiday last year, we visited Mumbai and then the Seychelles. We stayed six nights at the Four Seasons Desroches and then one night at the Four Seasons Seychelles on Mahé as we had an early flight home the next day. Here’s what we thought of our stay on Desroches. To get to the Four Seasons Desroches, you have to get on a small plane and take a 30 minute flight as it’s one of the outer islands of the Seychelles. There are only two flights a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon…
We’ve visited Positano at least three times (might be four but I can’t remember!) and always stayed at the same hotel. This year, five years after our last visit, we thought we’d try somewhere different. After a bit of research, we decided on Casa Buonocore – a boutique hotel. Why? One of the reasons was their beautiful decor. Lots of hotels in Italy, even if they are five star, are quite outdated and old fashioned. Located on the main road, although 70 steps above road level, it boasts a prime position. It’s a mere 2 minute walk to the centre…
At the end of every month, I like to look back and reflect on ten things that made me happy and that I’m thankful for so here’s my Ten Happy Things for July. My first Henley Regatta Thanks to the lovely ladies at Debenhams, I got to attend the Henley Royal Regatta with a bunch of fellow bloggers. Christmas in July This heatwave has been insane! So when I…
Every day at 6:30pm, without fail, something special happens at Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives… It’s feeding time for the stingrays! For at least ten years the resort has faithfully fed the stingrays who otherwise might struggle to find enough food, explained their marine biologist. There are up to ten stingrays who come every day to be fed fish from the bucket, to the delight of the guests. Unlike at some other resorts in the Maldives, the guests at Huvafen Fushi are only allowed to observe the feeding and not feed the stingrays themselves. However, letting a stingray swim up and…
If the idea of an intimate, remote and luxurious island appeals to you then you absolutely must visit the Maldives. Trouble is… the Maldives is much bigger than you think as there are 26 atolls which span around 300 square kilometres. It’s one of the world’s most geographically dispersed countries but also the smallest Asian country with less than 450,000 residents. I can’t tell you where to visit but I can share our experience of Huvafen Fushi. Paradise on earth We flew to Male from Bangkok, which was a 4 and a half hour flight. Whilst it wasn’t anywhere near…
