Where to eat in Boston

Boston is a fairly big city, which means there’s a lot of options when it comes to eating out. In fact, Opentable has almost 11,000 restaurants listed for Boston – not as many as NYC’s 24,000 – but still, that’s a lot to consider! Here’s where we enjoyed eating when we were in Boston over New Year. Breakfast Stephanie’s on Newbury We had breakfast at the popular Stephanie’s on Newbury on a Sunday. As we didn’t have a reservation, and it was so popular, we had to eat in the bar area (which was pretty full too). It’s definitely a spot…

Ladies, don’t neglect your smear test

I was shocked to hear the other day that cervical screening or smear tests had hit a 20 year low. LADIES! C’mon now. Why would you put your health at risk? The charity, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust reports that 1 in 4 women do not attend their smear test. This did impact a little bit on our exploring as it was bitterly cold but we did our best to explore as much as we could. There were some areas we didn’t…

The Test Kitchen by Adam Simmonds

A few weeks ago we went for lunch at chef Adam Simmonds pop-up The Test Kitchen in Soho. Connie from Connie Consumes had been and I was drooling over her Instagram pics so decided to book it as a treat for my husband. The concept of the restaurant is that it’s a place where you can see the chefs cooking, they then serve the food and they constantly change dishes depending on the feedback they get. Adam Simmonds was there when we had lunch and he had a chat with us – he was really lovely. So, what did we…

My 2018 travel wishlist

It’s not even 2018 yet but already I’m thinking about what places I’d like to visit next year! When it comes to planning in advance, I have to say that we’re not that great at it. Usually we leave deciding -and then booking – to about a month in advance. Not ideal… so, in 2018, I really do want to get better at being organised. What’s on my 2018 travel list? Boston, Massachusetts We’re kicking off the new year in Boston, which I’m super excited about! I’ve heard such great things about the city and I can’t wait to explore…
