Top travel destinations by travellers

I’ve been so lucky to visit so many wonderful places but of course the world is vast and there are many places I will never get to see. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming trying to choose where to travel to so I asked fellow travellers to share the places that they have loved the most and that they think others should know about. I hope it inspires you when you’re planning your next trip. Lunch at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon

On Christmas Eve we treated ourselves to lunch at Michelin-starred restaurant, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Covent Garden. We’ve been a few times over the years and throughly enjoy the classic, seasonal, French-inspired food. Joël Robuchon has a number of restaurants around the world and has been awarded ‘Chef of the Century’ by the Gault Millau guide. Let’s be ourselves in 2016

Last night I watched Reggie Yates’ Extreme UK: Dying for a six pack, which is a documentary about the extreme lengths that guys will go to for the perfect body. It was really quite disturbing…. from hours in the gym wrapped in cling film (to sweat out excess water) to spending over £200k on surgery that included pec implants. They needed to be accepted by society – a society that…

As we approach the end of 2015, I’d like to reflect on the year and remind myself of the amazing adventures I’ve had. I’m very lucky to be able to travel and see the world, with my husband, and I truly do believe that it makes you a more rounded and open-minded person. Experiencing new cultures opens up your eyes to what lies beyond your own little world and heightens your senses as well as your curiosity. So where did our travels take us? New Year in New York We started 2015 with a bang by celebrating New Year in…

Lunch at Four to Eight

*Update: sadly this restaurant has now closed* Shelley and I have been great friends since we were thirteen when we met at high school in Durban, South Africa. Shelley moved to the UK in 1999 and I followed in 2003 and we’ve both lived here ever since. I even lived with her for a year back in 2004/5 in Surbiton and she was one of my bridesmaids when I got married in Bologna in 2013. Every six weeks or so we like to meet for lunch and a catch up. On this occasion we met at Four to Eight, an…
